Michael Milnes of Rochester, MN has been in practice as a physical therapist for eighteen years. He has an office in an old Victorian house in the Historic District of Rochester and lives six blocks away in a second, slightly older Victorian.
The waiting room of the first Victorian is lined with diplomas and other credentials attesting to the years of training that Michael Milnes of Rochester went through on the way to becoming a licensed physical therapist. And among those credentials are two “Best Physical Therapist” awards he received from Reader’s Choice surveys conducted by the Rochester Bulletin.
“Those are real honors that mean a lot to me,” he says. He won the Reader’s Choice “Best of Rochester” Awards in 2008 and 2013. He says that he had never previously taken such awards seriously. “I always thought they were these political things – that maybe the results were fudged a little. But no, they really came out of nowhere, both of them. The first one, in 2008, was a total surprise. I just got a call one day from this guy at the paper who said I had won. And the second a couple of years ago was as big a surprise as the first.”
Michael Milnes of Rochester, MN attended the University of Minnesota in St. Paul, where he received Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Physical Education in 1992. He went on to graduate school in St. Paul and received his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 1996. He was licensed by the state later that same year and has been in practice ever since.
